Donegal Hostel Trip
June 13 - June 18
The trip is primarily for 5th Formers as their first club trip away, but it is open to all members who are interested. Donegal offers some stunning cycling and scenery and a large group from several year groups travelled last year and had a superb trip. For insurance purposes anyone wishing to travel and cycle must be a current registered member of the Willow Wheelers and Cycling Ireland.
It is a hostel trip and Campbells Hostel in Glenties is exceptionally well run and provides excellent accommodation. Very good breakfasts and evening meals are included and taken in the Highland Hotel next door to the hostel and each day a good packed lunch is provided for the days cycling. We would be cycling Wednesday afternoon and Thursday thru Sunday. Monday is the return journey to Dublin normally with an excursion to Waterworld in Bundoran for the boys.
Before the trip can be confirmed we need to ascertain the number of members committing to travel. All Members who would like to go on for the trip should send an email confirming their wish to travel by Tuesday 15thMay to email@example.com. You will need to confirm who will be travelling and exactly what dates you intend to travel so that accommodation and meal arrangements can be made.
It may be difficult, given work commitments, for some to attendee for the full duration of the trip and it may be possible to accommodate people attending for just part of the trip as long as there are enough adults to supervise any boys for the full trip and travel arrangements for the boys are organised.
The cost of the trip will be around €400 but depends on numbers and whether we need to organise transport (for boys and/or bikes). The club does have a bike trailer and if any member wishing to travel would be willing and able to tow the club bike trailer could they please let us know.
It is important that we have committed numbers to travel by next Tuesday 15thso we can confirm if the trip will go ahead.
