Easter 2025 Spain trip update 20/3/2025 (updated 6/4/2025):
Plans are progressing well for our trip to Spain. We will have 95 members on the trip. Key update points to note as follows:
Briefing meeting: We will hold a briefing meeting for everyone coming on the trip at 7:30pm on Wednesday 2 April in Willow Park Cafeteria. We recommend you all attend this meeting to discuss the trip details and we plan to distribute your boarding passes at this meeting.
Truck loading: We will be loading the truck with the bicycles and luggage (use soft bags please) from 4pm – 6pm on Tuesday 8 April at Willow Park School.
- You will be provided with two colour coded tags – 1 for bike and 1 for bag (soft bags please).
- Ensure that your bike and bag is checked off the checklist when they are being loaded onto the truck.
- Don’t put your helmet on the bike, it can be stored in your bag or separately.
- Don’t leave water bottles, Garmins, lights, etc. on bike – put these in luggage.
- Wrap your bike up to protect it – we will do our best to mind your bike but you need to protect it.
- Bring your Bike Details Form (on website) when dropping you bicycle to the truck. Give to Marcie when picking up luggage/bike tags.
- We currently expect the truck to return to Willow following the trip at 6pm on Monday 21 April, but this remains a provisional date until confirmed.
- Don’t be late!
Bike service: Please ensure that you have your bicycle serviced well ahead of the trip. We are very fortunate that John Piggott of The Bike Rack will accompany us this year to help deal with mechanical issues when we are in Spain, but your bicycle must be in good mechanical order ahead of departure.
Also check out the thread of this post below for further details and to help your planning for the trip, particularly to ensure that you have covered points that need to be addressed ahead of departure, e.g. European Health Insurance Card, etc. Please continue to check this web post as we will continue to update it from time to time.
