100 Mile Charity Cycle Update
Dear Willow Wheelers and potential new Adult members,
We are less than three weeks from the 2018 Willow Wheelers 100 Mile Charity Cycle, which will take place on Sunday, 6 May. This is our major fund-raising event of the year and all funds go directly to the charitable projects supported by our Club.
This year, we are pleased to welcome new and potential new Adult members to join us for some or all of the course. The main peloton will depart Blackrock College at 8:45am. You are welcome to complete the full course, or you can join us at Kinnegad (ETA 1:30pm), Maynooth (ETA 4:30pm) or join with the fifth form group approximately 10km from the end of the cycle.
Sponsorship cards are available now from: (i) Christy McDaid, Club Chairman; (ii) Blackrock College office; (iii) Willow Park School office and (iv) Owen Brennan, Dean of third Year Blackrock College. We would appreciate if you can collect your sponsorship cards as soon as possible.
All participants must complete the 100 Mile Registration Form, which will be available on the Documents page of our website shortly, and submit these prior to commencement of the event. Representatives of the Club will be available on the day of the event to collect these forms from you.
In the interests of safety, we have modified the route of the 100 Mile Cycle this year. We will pass through Lucan and return through South County Dublin, instead of the city centre, and will drop the Ballivor leg. All participants should obey the rules of the road and wearing of a helmet is mandatory.
If you are interested in joining the Cycling Marshals, who help keep us safe on the route, please notify any member of the Committee. Support drivers and Cycling Marshals are requested to attend a briefing meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 1 May at Willow Park School Cafeteria.
Regards,
WW Committee
